[Chicago, IL – June 16, 2020] – Corporate Leadership Center announced that Deborah (Deb) DeHaas has been named as incoming CEO, effective November 2020. Deb has been a Corporate Leadership Center Board member since 2015 and has served as Advisor to the organization since 2019.
“Deb’s knowledge and understanding of the organization, as well as her deep involvement throughout this past year, will ensure a seamless transition for our entire community,” commented Corporate Leadership Center Co-Chairman Sheila Penrose.
In her role as CEO, Deb will be responsible for overseeing the operations and management of Corporate Leadership Center and its two programs, CEO Perspectives and Leading Women Executives. She will continue to build relationships with sponsor companies, participants and alumni, and guide strategies to further Corporate Leadership Center’s mission of cultivating dynamic business leaders.
Most recently, Deb was Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner, Center for Board Effectiveness, at Deloitte, where she was responsible for boardroom programs and thought leadership that support corporate boards and directors in fulfilling their governance-related responsibilities. She also served as Deloitte’s Chief Inclusion Officer, where she developed the organization’s strategy to recruit, develop, and promote a diverse workforce and foster an inclusive environment where leaders thrive. In addition, Deb played a pivotal role in developing a variety of leadership programs at Deloitte, including the development of the Deloitte University Leadership Center for Inclusion. Previously, she led Deloitte’s Central Region for 9 years, served two terms on the Deloitte U.S. Board of Directors, and was a member of Deloitte’s Executive Committee.
Deb is also a noted community leader, serving as a member of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, trustee at Northwestern University and University of Denver, director of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Foundation, vice chair for United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and chair of the Civic Consulting Alliance.
